About Me (Human & Therapist)

A woman with long blonde hair, light skin, and a gentle smile wearing a beige blouse, standing against a dark background.

Therapy works best when it feels like a real conversation between two humans, so here’s a little about me as both a therapist and a person.

I’m a warm, relational therapist who believes people heal through honesty, insight, and meaningful connection. I’m not the kind of therapist who just nods and says “mm-hmm.” I will ask thoughtful questions, challenge you when it’s helpful, and say the hard things if I think they matter for your growth. My goal is always to be honest and supportive at the same time. I’m also someone who is comfortable with depth. I’m spiritually oriented and interested in the bigger questions people carry about meaning, identity, purpose, and how to live a life that feels aligned. Sometimes that shows up through conversation about existential questions, sometimes through reflection and symbolism, and sometimes through simply allowing quiet moments in the room. Silence can be meaningful too.

Being a first-generation Ukrainian American also shapes the way I see the world and the work I do. I’m deeply aware of how culture, family history, immigration, and intergenerational experiences influence identity, expectations, and the ways we relate to others.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent years working in substance use and mental health treatment, both inpatient and outpatient. That experience gave me a lot of respect for the complexity of addiction, trauma, and survival. I’ve worked extensively with people navigating complex trauma, addiction and harm reduction, and many adult children of alcoholics who are trying to understand the patterns they grew up with and how those patterns show up in their relationships today.I also really enjoy working with teens, especially those navigating ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and the intense pressures that can come with adolescence. Teen years can be confusing, overwhelming, and full of big emotions, and I aim to create a space where teens feel respected, understood, and supported while learning how to better understand themselves.

While I work with many different people, there are certain clients I especially love working with. If you’re someone who intellectualizes everything and lives mostly in your head, we’ll probably have good conversations. If you’re someone who struggles with people pleasing or putting everyone else first, we might have important work to do. I also really enjoy working with couples who want to get better at conflict and communication, including couples in nontraditional relationship structures. I have a deep appreciation for working with queer clients and with first-generation Americans navigating identity, family expectations, and belonging.

At the end of the day, I believe therapy should feel thoughtful, real, and human. There can be seriousness, humor, insight, and moments of quiet all in the same session. My hope is to create a space where you feel understood enough to explore the parts of yourself that need attention, care, and change. And if we discover along the way that you overthink everything, avoid conflict, and still want to understand yourself deeply, you’re probably in the right place.
